Yin Yoga is a series of postures held anywhere from 3-5 minutes. Similar to restorative yoga, Yin Yoga is gentle and meditative, and is rich in the use of props. Students will use props to get in and out of poses, most of which are seated, in a calming and delicate manner. Yin Yoga calms and balances the mind, gets deep into the fascia which increases flexibility and improves joint function, and increases circulation and the flow of Chi energy in the body. In Yin it is said that you use the pose to get into the body, restoring harmony and re-balancing the mind, body, spirit connection.
